DETROIT, Mich. — Detroit Lions fans heading to Ford Field over the next two Sundays should expect something other than the usual Honolulu blue and silver.

During the team’s Week 6 bye, the club swapped its social media profile images on Friday night for an all-black logo trimmed in blue, a familiar signal that the black Motor City Muscle set is coming back. Its header image also showed tackle Penei Sewell in that alternate look next to the date of the next game.

That game is Sunday, Oct. 25, at 4:25 p.m. against Green Bay. The set, introduced in 2024, pairs a black jersey and black pants with a matte blue helmet. Detroit last wore it at home on Nov. 23, 2025, an overtime win over the New York Giants, 34-27.

A week later the Lions host Minnesota, and the team has already said it will wear its new gray Rivalry uniforms for that NFC North game. The league rolled out Rivalry designs this offseason for every club in the NFC North and AFC South.

Detroit sits at 3-2 heading into the stretch of two home division games.
