DETROIT, Mich. — After a foggy end to the work week, Detroit and the rest of Southeast Michigan are in for a dry, comfortable fall weekend, with temperatures climbing toward 70 degrees by Sunday.

The National Weather Service put most of the region under a dense fog advisory until 10 a.m. Friday, warning that visibility could drop to a quarter-mile or less. Patchy fog may form again early on weekend mornings, so drivers heading out before sunrise should allow extra time.

Once any fog burns off, Saturday should be mostly sunny with a high around 66 in the city and southeast winds near 5 mph. Across the region, Saturday highs are forecast between 63 and 68 degrees, with morning lows from 39 to 44.

Sunday turns a bit warmer under a blend of clouds and sun. Detroit should reach about 68, and some spots could touch the low 70s, with regional highs from 66 to 71. Lows Sunday morning should hold between 44 and 49.

For context, the normal October high in Detroit is 62 degrees. The mild pattern carries into Monday, near 67, before a cooler Tuesday around 60. Dry weather is expected to last at least into the middle of next week.
