EDMONTON, Alberta — The Detroit Red Wings get one last chance to salvage their western swing Monday night in Edmonton, where they face the Oilers at Rogers Place to close a four-game road trip. Puck drop is set for 9:30 p.m. Eastern.

Detroit comes in at 4-4-3 with 11 points after a flat Saturday night in Calgary. The Flames won 4-1, snapping a six-game run in which the Red Wings had collected at least a point every night.

The special teams were the sore spot. Detroit failed to score on two power plays and gave up a pair of goals while short-handed. Andrew Copp scored the lone Detroit goal, his second of the season, and John Gibson made 21 saves in net.

Coach Todd McLellan called it one of the team’s poorer nights in terms of execution, and Copp said the club never found traction against Calgary.

After Edmonton, the Red Wings come home to Little Caesars Arena to host Chicago on Thursday, Oct. 29, and St. Louis on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 31.
