Jim Sanderson, 76, Passes Away
Jim Sanderson, aged 76, died on September 17, 2025. Born on June 17, 1949, in Detroit, Sanderson is remembered by his wife, Jill Strobel, and his beloved pet, Pumpkin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Betty Sanderson.
He is survived by numerous family members, including in-laws Clark (Jean) Strobel, Susan Strobel, Shelley (Ed) Strobel-Erhardt, and Julie Lanka, as well as nieces Anna Lanka and Mara Strobel-Lanka. A private service is planned for the family, and an online memorial has been established at BetzlerLifeStory.com for friends to share stories and photos. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Susan Mast ALS Foundation. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Betzler Life Story Funeral Homes in Kalamazoo, MI.
Kathleen Eleanor Raymond, 86, Passes Away
Kathleen Eleanor (Konieczny) Raymond passed away at the age of 86 on August 28, 2025. Born in Rogers City, MI, and raised in Metz, MI, she was a long-time resident of Warren and Rochester Hills, MI. Kathleen was known for her career as a Special Needs Teacher for Utica Public Schools before she retired and wintered in North Port, FL.
Married to Richard Raymond for 66 years, she is survived by four children: Michael (Margy), Mitchell (Sue), Jeff (Beth), and Susan (Marc) Bautista. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and affectionate “GiGi” to three great-grandchildren. Kathleen is also survived by her siblings: Barbara, Jane Trainor, Diane (Dick) Reinke, Archie (Julie), and Patrick (Pam). She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Eleanor (Kowalski) Konieczny, as well as her husband Richard and son Mitchell.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on October 17, 2025, at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Lake Orion, MI, with visitation scheduled on October 16, 2025, from 3 PM to 8 PM at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home in Rochester, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Special Olympics Michigan, and interment will take place at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Rochester, MI.
Alan Wiseman, 54, Remembered After Passing
Alan Wiseman, 54, passed away at home in hospice care in Virginia Beach, VA, on August 21, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on April 6, 1971, in Detroit, Alan is survived by his parents, Richard and Carole Wiseman, his wife Holly with whom he shared 31 years of marriage, and two daughters, Sasha and Anya.
He is also remembered by his brother, Glen Wiseman, and a range of relatives, including two aunts and seven cousins. Additionally, his childhood friend Bendera Howard and “other” mother Constance Howard are among those who mourn his loss. Alan was educated in the Detroit area, attending Wayne Elementary, Dorothy Fisher Magnet Middle Schools, and graduating from Groves High School in Beverly Hills, MI, in 1989.
Alan attended Oakland Community College before transferring to Michigan State University, where he graduated with a BA in Sociology and Anthropology in 1993. His academic pursuits included studying at Cambridge University and in Paris, France, along with continued education in Forensic Anthropology at Western Michigan University. After moving to Virginia Beach in 2002, he worked for Hewlett-Packard and later for Elevance Healthcare as a Senior Portfolio Director. Alan enjoyed various hobbies, including gardening, biking, canoeing, and family trips.
An Open House to honor Alan’s memory will be held at his parents’ home on September 28, from 1 PM to 4 PM. Friends and family are invited to share their stories as they celebrate his life and legacy.
These individuals not only cherished their families but also positively influenced their communities, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered fondly by all who knew them.
