Detroit – A new beachside getaway has officially opened in downtown Detroit, promising to elevate summer experiences for locals and visitors alike. Cabana 313, a fully-furnished, two-story outdoor cabana, is nestled at Campus Martius Park, right above The Beach. Designed and furnished by Gardner White, this new venue invites guests to enjoy a beach day atmosphere in the heart of the city.
Cabana 313 is notable for being the only location in downtown Detroit where patrons can savor tropical cocktails while soaking in skyline views. It operates as an open-air space suitable for summer hangouts, available day and night with operating hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. In addition to providing a relaxing spot for visitors, the cabana can be rented out for corporate gatherings and private events, making it a versatile space for various occasions.
Returning to the beachside atmosphere is BrisaBar, managed by the Elia Group, which has opened its doors alongside Cabana 313 for the summer. BrisaBar features a full food menu along with a diverse drink selection that includes cocktails, wines, mocktails, beer, and seltzers, offering something for everyone looking to refresh during their beach day.
Emphasizing the summer spirit in Detroit, the Downtown Detroit Partnership has also coordinated monthly Saturday beach parties at The Beach, occurring from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. These vibrant gatherings will showcase rotating themes such as Y2K Pop Punk, R&Beach, and Country Roots, accompanied by live music, giveaways, and interactive activities to keep attendees entertained throughout the summer.
Additionally, the Downtown Detroit Partnership has outlined a series of free outdoor events and activities planned to take place from now until October. These activities will include live music performances, movie screenings, dance parties, markets, wellness classes, and much more across various parks throughout the city.
Exciting new additions to the summer line-up include Taco and Trivia Tuesdays at Campus Martius Park, providing a fun and engaging way for guests to enjoy both food and entertainment midweek. For families, there will also be weekly movie nights along with monthly Campus Kids Days, featuring themed entertainment and activities catered to children.
Other local parks are similarly capitalizing on the summer season with additional offerings. Beacon Park is set to host monthly Music and Markets events, which bring together live entertainment and local vendors for community enjoyment. Meanwhile, Grand Circus Park will facilitate monthly dog meet-ups in its designated dog park and a Thursday night Bourbon Garden that features live jazz music for a relaxing evening atmosphere.
All participating parks will also feature a variety of fitness and wellness classes, such as yoga and pilates, providing opportunities for health-conscious guests to stay active and engaged throughout the summer months.
With Cabana 313 and its accompanying activities, downtown Detroit is transforming into a lively summer destination where residents and visitors can embrace the warmth, relax at the beach, and indulge in all that the city has to offer.
