Ada, Michigan – Ada Valley Meat Company has announced a recall of approximately 1,065 pounds of fully cooked frozen ground beef due to concerns about potential metal contamination. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) made the announcement on July 29, 2025, following a customer report of finding a piece of metal in the product.

Fortunately, there have been no confirmed reports of injuries related to the consumption of the affected meat products. The recalled ground beef is packaged in 20-pound cardboard boxes, consisting of four 5-pound plastic bags labeled as “Ada Valley fully cooked ground beef.” Consumers can identify the affected packages by their pack dates of May 28, 2025 with lot code 35156 and May 30, 2025, with lot code 35157. The establishment number “EST. 10031” can also be found within the USDA mark of inspection on these labels.

The recalled products had been distributed to various locations across the United States, including establishments and distributors in California, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. FSIS has underscored that institutions and establishments in receipt of the recalled products should refrain from serving them and either discard the items or return them to the place of purchase.

Consumers with any concerns or inquiries about the recall are encouraged to contact Gerrit Rozeboom, President of Ada Valley Gourmet Foods, via email at gerrit@adavalley.com. It is important for consumers and businesses to stay informed, as FSIS has indicated that additional products may be added to the recall as further investigations continue.

This incident is part of a larger trend regarding food safety, as there have been increasing numbers of recalls related to potential metal contamination earlier this year. Similar recalls have involved frozen taquitos and various beef and turkey products, highlighting ongoing concerns in the food manufacturing industry regarding quality control and consumer safety.

Ada Valley Meat Company emphasizes the importance of customer safety and quality assurance. With the recall now underway, the company is taking necessary precautions to ensure that any affected products are removed from the market. The FSIS is committed to protecting public health by regulating and monitoring food safety, and they continuously inform consumers about any risks involving food products.

Customers who purchased the affected ground beef are advised to check their freezers and discard or return the products as appropriate. Maintaining awareness of product recalls not only aids in personal safety but also promotes the integrity of food supply chains.
