Detroit is gearing up to celebrate its 324th birthday at Spirit Plaza. The day will feature a flag-raising ceremony, live music, comedy performances, and a cake giveaway. This event aims to highlight Detroit’s cultural heritage and resilience, reminding attendees of the city’s enduring spirit.
Detroit is set to celebrate its 324th birthday on July 24, 2025, with a vibrant public event at Spirit Plaza. Organized in partnership with Local 4 and Raise the Flag Detroit, the festivities will feature a variety of activities aimed at bringing the community together.
The day’s celebrations will kick off at 12 PM and continue until 4 PM. A highlight of the event will be a flag-raising ceremony, which will take place ahead of the anticipated free cake giveaway scheduled for 3:13 PM. Residents and visitors alike are invited to join in the festivities, which promise live music, comedy performances, and a range of giveaways.
Attendees can look forward to performances from local artists such as Melanie Hearn, Kevin Johnson, Billy Love, and Just Brothers. In addition to musical performances, there will be raffle prizes available, including various Detroit-themed items and even a city flag, complimenting the overall celebration of local pride.
The event is designed to be inclusive, with free admission for people of all ages. It is sponsored by the Audio Rescue Team and Village Market. Food trucks will be stationed nearby, offering a selection of food and beverages available for purchase throughout the event.
