In the early hours of Thursday, November 27, 2025, a burglary occurred at the Mirage Market, a party store located at 28292 Joy Road in Livonia, Michigan. Two individuals used a stolen red Dodge Ram pickup truck to forcibly enter the store by smashing the front doors with sledgehammers and pulling them open with the vehicle. Once inside, they stole liquor, lottery tickets, and cash before fleeing the scene.

Livonia police responded promptly to the scene after a 911 call reported the break-in. Officers spotted the stolen pickup truck moving east on Joy Road with its headlights off. When authorities attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away, leading officers through Livonia and Redford. During the pursuit, the passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Shortly thereafter, the driver abandoned the truck and also fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. He was identified as Marcus Martez Purnell, 32, of Detroit.
