Families engaging in summer fun at Metro Detroit events
As summer approaches, Metro Detroit is gearing up for a vibrant season filled with family-friendly activities and community events starting May 24. The LittleGuide Detroit Magazine has released a Summer edition full of local activities and a free printable Metro Detroit Summer Bucketlist, ensuring families can make the most of their summer adventures. The season features a range of events, including festivals, fireworks, and a special FREE Family Fun Safety Day. Metro Detroit is set to welcome the start of summer on May 24, 2025, with a plethora of family-friendly activities and community events planned throughout the season. Residents and visitors can look forward to local beaches, waterparks, festivals, fairs, and playgrounds that promise to make summer memorable.
To aid families in maximizing their summer fun, the LittleGuide Detroit Magazine has released its Summer edition, offering a comprehensive list of activities in the Metro Detroit area. In addition, a free printable Metro Detroit Summer Bucketlist provided by Priority Health will help families keep track of their summer adventures.

The Downtown Detroit Partnership has announced a vibrant lineup of summer events designed to engage residents. Starting June 13, Movie Nights in the D will return every Friday, while new events such as Tacos & Trivia Tuesdays will launch on June 17 at Campus Martius Park. Additionally, monthly beach parties and yoga fitness classes will be held in various parks, complemented by local community markets.
Downtown parks will also host activities like The Beach at Campus Martius, featuring sand, live music, and cocktails. Pop-up markets in Cadillac Square will commence on June 5, with Music & Markets events at Beacon Park scheduled for June 21, July 26, and August 23. Special family events, including Campus Kids Days at Campus Martius Park, are organized throughout the summer to enhance family engagement.
The Downtown Detroit Partnership is committed to fostering community engagement through its management of 18 parks and public squares, ensuring that experiences are accessible to everyone.
