Born on April 15, 1946, in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, Dr. Bogen dedicated over 45 years to his dental practice in Grosse Pointe Woods. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit. During his career, he became well-known and respected in his field, serving as a past president of the Detroit District Dental Society and receiving numerous accolades.
Dr. Bogen is survived by his three children: Jeffrey Bogen and his wife Clare, Thomas Bogen, and Dr. Victoria Boyd and her husband David. He was also a beloved grandfather to four grandchildren: Blaise, Edie, Thomas Jr., and Michael Bogen. In addition to his immediate family, he is remembered as the eldest brother to Thomas Bogdziewicz, Clinton Bogen, William Bogdziewicz Jr., Terri Kachmar, and John Bogdziewicz, who each cherish his memory along with many loving nieces and nephews.

He played an active role in his parish, Our Lady Star of the Sea, where he served in multiple capacities including lector, eucharistic minister, and usher. A funeral mass will be held in his honor on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Sweetest Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Detroit, MI. The mass is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM, with instate starting at 9 AM. Family members have requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mother of Divine Mercy Parish Food Pantry, reflecting Dr. Bogen’s lifelong commitment to supporting those in need.
