Born on April 15, 1946, in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, Dr. Bogen dedicated over 45 years to his dental practice in Grosse Pointe Woods. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit. During his career, he became well-known and respected in his field, serving as a past president of the Detroit District Dental Society and receiving numerous accolades.

Dr. Bogen is survived by his three children: Jeffrey Bogen and his wife Clare, Thomas Bogen, and Dr. Victoria Boyd and her husband David. He was also a beloved grandfather to four grandchildren: Blaise, Edie, Thomas Jr., and Michael Bogen. In addition to his immediate family, he is remembered as the eldest brother to Thomas Bogdziewicz, Clinton Bogen, William Bogdziewicz Jr., Terri Kachmar, and John Bogdziewicz, who each cherish his memory along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Ronald Bogen was not just a successful dentist; he was also deeply committed to his faith and community. He played an active role in his parish, Our Lady Star of the Sea, where he served in multiple capacities including lector, eucharistic minister, and usher. His involvement extended beyond church duties to local group activities, such as participating in the St. Joan of Arc Men’s Fellowship for many years.

Family was of utmost priority for Dr. Bogen. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, often taking them to ice hockey games and sharing his passion for golfing. With a reputation for kindness and generosity, his primary focus was always on faith, family, and helping others, which left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Ronald was predeceased by his parents, William and Patricia Bogdziewicz, his brother Clinton Bogen, and brother-in-law Ron Kachmar. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral mass will be held in his honor on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Sweetest Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Detroit, MI. The mass is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM, with instate starting at 9 AM. Family members have requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mother of Divine Mercy Parish Food Pantry, reflecting Dr. Bogen’s lifelong commitment to supporting those in need.
