Tecovas aims to offer a variety of cowboy boots, denim, and accessories, enhancing the retail options at Hudson’s Detroit. This development reflects Detroit’s revitalization and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship, catered to both locals and visitors. With other amenities including a luxury hotel, the project will transform the downtown landscape and economy.
Detroit – Western wear brand Tecovas is set to open its first store in Michigan at Hudson’s Detroit, marking a significant addition to the area’s retail landscape. The store will be located on the ground level of the Hudson’s Detroit office building, situated at 1240 Woodward Avenue, right beside the skyscraper at 1208 Woodward, in the heart of downtown.
The announcement of Tecovas’ entrance into the market comes shortly after Alo Yoga was revealed as the first retail tenant at Hudson’s Detroit. This expansion reflects the growing interest and demand for unique and heritage-driven products that resonate with Detroit’s evolving identity.
Bedrock’s Senior VP of Leasing noted that this introduction speaks to Detroit’s growing appeal for products that prioritize craftsmanship and performance. Tecovas aims to enhance the retail experience at Hudson’s Detroit by offering a diverse selection of everyday cowboy boots, denim, and specialty accessories.
In addition to the incoming Tecovas store, Hudson’s Detroit is poised to feature a range of amenities, including a 56,000 square-foot event venue dubbed “The Department at Hudson’s,” designed to accommodate gatherings, meetings, and special occasions.
Another key highlight of the Hudson’s Detroit project is the construction of downtown Detroit’s first five-star hotel, The Detroit Edition, which will provide over 200 luxury accommodations. The upper levels of the towers will also house The Residences at The Detroit Edition, which will consist of nearly 100 residential units, further enhancing the building’s mixed-use concept.
The Hudson’s Detroit development stands out as the most substantial ground-up project in Detroit in the last half-century. At a towering height of 681 feet, it ranks as the second tallest building in Michigan, just shy of the Renaissance Center at 727 feet. Once completed, the entire Hudson’s Detroit complex will encompass over 1.5 million square feet dedicated to retail, office spaces, dining, hospitality, and residential offerings, making a significant impact on the local economy and urban landscape.
This development not only emphasizes Detroit’s revitalization but also aims to attract both residents and visitors with its mix of high-quality retail, comfortable living spaces, and luxurious accommodations. As Hudson’s Detroit continues to take shape, it is expected to become a central hub for shopping, leisure, and entertainment within the city.
The addition of Tecovas is indicative of a wider trend in the retail sector, where consumers are increasingly looking for products that blend craftsmanship with modern-day practicality. The premiere of this Western wear store, alongside other upscale retail options, promises to bring new life to the city’s commercial environment.
Hudson’s Detroit remains a cornerstone of Detroit’s ongoing transformation, representing a commitment to rejuvenating the downtown area while providing features that cater to both local tastes and the expectations of modern consumers. This ambitious project is poised to usher in a new era for retail and hospitality in one of Michigan’s most iconic cities.
