ALLEN PARK, Mich. — Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell, speaking in Allen Park on Tuesday, Oct. 20, said he believes All-Pro safety Kerby Joseph will get back on the field before this season ends, though he stopped short of putting a date on it.

Joseph has not played in more than a year because of a knee problem that has been called both chronic and inoperable, and his expected return has slipped several times. Campbell said the team is pleased with the progress Joseph has made and that the safety is in a good frame of mind.

Joseph returned to the team facility a few weeks ago after stepping away for a personal matter. The Lions also plan to welcome back fellow safety Brian Branch this week, which would give Detroit both of its standout safeties again at some point this fall for the first time since the 2024 season.
