The HERE Detroit Business Directory is a free, searchable listing of businesses operating in Wayne County and the broader Metro Detroit region. We built it because local journalism is only as useful as the community it reflects — and that community includes every enterprise, from a Fortune 500 headquarters downtown Detroit to a storefront in Midtown, a garage workshop in Corktown, a family-owned restaurant in Dearborn, or a service provider in Hamtramck and Royal Oak. The directory is organized by category, neighborhood, and city so readers can find what they need and so business owners can make sure they’re visible to their neighbors.
Metro Detroit’s economy is anchored by one of the most complex industrial supply chains in the world. Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers — the firms that make the components, materials, and systems that flow into GM, Ford, and Stellantis assembly plants — are woven into nearly every Wayne County zip code. The directory captures that full ecosystem: contract manufacturers, logistics and distribution firms, engineering and design consultancies, and the professional services (legal, accounting, staffing, marketing) that support the auto industry’s back office. It also reflects Metro Detroit’s large and growing healthcare supply chain, including vendors, device makers, and staffing agencies that serve Henry Ford Health and Detroit Medical Center campuses across the region.
How to add your business
Listings are open to any business with a physical address or a primary service area in Wayne County or Metro Detroit. Basic listings are free. Premium tiers unlock additional photos, a longer description, and a backlink to your website. We also offer Section Sponsorships — category-level placements that put your brand at the top of a specific vertical — and Game Day sponsorships tied to Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons home-game coverage windows. To get started, click “Add Your Business” at the top of the directory page and complete the short submission form. Listings are reviewed by our team before going live, typically within two business days.
Why the directory matters for Detroit
Detroit’s economic base is broad and layered. Advanced automotive manufacturing — from General Motors at the Renaissance Center to Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Stellantis operations across the metro, and the deep Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier ecosystem running along the I-75, I-94, and I-696 corridors — generates tens of thousands of direct and indirect jobs across Wayne County. Healthcare is the second pillar: Henry Ford Health, Detroit Medical Center, Wayne Health, and Corewell Health (formerly Beaumont) collectively employ more workers than any single automaker in the city proper. Higher education anchors neighborhood economies in ways that rarely get counted: Wayne State University on the Midtown edge, University of Detroit Mercy in northwest Detroit, and Wayne County Community College’s five campuses spread across the county serve hundreds of thousands of students and employ faculty and staff throughout the region. Financial and technology services — Rocket Companies, Quicken Loans, and Ally Financial, all with significant downtown Detroit footprints — have diversified the economy and drawn a new generation of workers into the city. The directory exists to make all of it visible and connected: from a tier-one automotive supplier to a one-person home repair business in Wayne County, every listing strengthens the local economy by making local spending easier. Use the category and location filters — for example, search “auto” with category “Automotive” and location “Dearborn” — to find exactly what you need close to home.
