DETROIT, Mich. — Four people, three adults and one juvenile, are in custody after a U.S. Postal Service carrier was attacked and a gun was fired while he worked his route on the east side of Detroit, Mich., on Wednesday, Oct. 7, police said.
Detroit police officers were sent at about 5:10 p.m. to the 20000 block of Joann Street, near Collingham, after a ShotSpotter alert and a 911 call reporting a shooting. According to the preliminary investigation, a group of males approached the carrier on his route, the encounter turned into a physical fight, and one of them fired a weapon.
