ANN ARBOR, Mich. — One of Ann Arbor’s best-known burger counters is cooking again. Krazy Jim’s Blimpy Burger has reopened after a renovation and a change in ownership, with a group of four Ann Arbor business owners now running the shop.
The restaurant shut down earlier this year for the remodel. The shop sits at 304 S. Ashley Street. It now opens daily at 11 a.m. and stays open until 11 p.m., and customers can order online for delivery.
The new owners plan to keep the core menu of burgers, onion rings and other short-order staples, along with the brisk, by-the-rules way customers place their orders. They also kept the bear mascot and restored the hand-drawn artwork from the prior owner, who died in 2025.
A few changes are coming. A dedicated ordering app is on the way, and the taps will pour beer from Mothfire Brewing Co., another Ann Arbor business.
Blimpy Burger has been part of the city since 1953, when it opened on South Division Street. It moved to its Ashley Street home in 2014 and has drawn national television attention over the years.
