Detroit, Mich. — Remnants of Hurricane Isaias left Metro Detroit under mostly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures Sunday, with rain showers holding afternoon highs near 66 degrees.
Forecasters said the bulk of tropical moisture stayed east of the region but still produced a damp first half of the day after overnight showers ended a dry stretch.
Sunday night into Monday morning brought a risk of patchy dense fog under east-northeasterly flow, with drivers urged to use low beams if visibility dropped before sunrise.
Monday was expected to mix sunshine and clouds with warmer air, pushing highs toward 77 degrees after morning fog burned off across Southeast Michigan.
The National Weather Service Detroit Pontiac office forecast for the city called for patchy fog then partly sunny conditions around Columbus Day with overnight lows near 65 and another chance of rain later in the week.
Additional shower chances return Monday night into Tuesday before a midweek cool-down trends highs back toward the 60s for the second half of the week.
