Delta Air Lines says it will add a nonstop flight between Detroit Metro Airport and Athens, Greece.
The service is seasonal. Delta says it is scheduled to start June 8, 2027, and to run three times a week through Oct. 28, 2027. Delta says the Detroit Metro to Athens route will use an Airbus A330-200.
The carrier says Athens would be its 12th unique long-haul destination from Detroit during the peak summer season. The carrier also says Athens would be its seventh destination in continental Europe from Detroit Metro Airport.
The same announcement includes a separate four-times-weekly seasonal flight between Boston and Venice. That separate Boston to Venice flight is scheduled to start in May 2027. The Detroit flight in the same announcement is the seasonal nonstop between Detroit Metro Airport and Athens.
