DETROIT, Mich. — Downtown office workers get a bagel counter back on Monday, Oct. 19, as the Einstein Bros. brand starts serving from the ground-floor lobby at One Campus Martius, its first spot anywhere in downtown Detroit.
The walk-up shop takes about 1,200 square feet on the tower’s first floor beside True Market, in space that went unused after a Tim Hortons there shut down. It will run weekdays only, from 7:30 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon.
The franchise belongs to Randy Dickow, who leads food and beverage for Cicero Hospitality Group of Bloomfield Hills. He also runs Adelina on Woodward and Bell Bistro in Birmingham. The opening was first announced in September.
Expect breakfast and lunch sandwiches such as nova lox, turkey, and bacon with avocado, plus a pizza bagel, along with hot and iced lattes, brewed and cold coffee and fruit refreshers. Catering and third-party delivery are planned soon.
Bedrock bought the 15-story One Campus Martius tower in 2014, and it is home to Rocket Mortgage and StockX. Counting this one, metro Detroit is home to over 15 of the brand’s bagel shops.
