DETROIT, Mich. — The Detroit Lions return from their early bye week to face the Green Bay Packers at Ford Field on Sunday, a division game that will leave the loser with three defeats.

Green Bay arrives at 4-2 and Detroit sits at 3-2, with both teams chasing the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings at the top of the NFC North.

The Lions offense has been rolling. Jared Goff has a 111.3 passer rating and has not been intercepted all season, and Detroit is scoring more than 30 points a game. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs is on a pace for close to 2,500 yards from scrimmage. The Detroit pass rush leads the league with 20 sacks in five games.

The Packers counter with a defense that has nine interceptions, most in the league, under new coordinator Jonathan Gannon, who likes to send heavy pressure. Green Bay lost linebacker Edgerrin Cooper for the year to a torn Achilles in Week 4, and fellow linebacker Zaire Franklin was ruled out after a midweek injury. Running back Josh Jacobs came off the Commissioner Exempt List on Monday and is expected to be available.

Recent meetings in Detroit have been high scoring. The Packers won 29-22 on Thanksgiving in 2023, the Lions won 34-31 the following season, and Green Bay took a 31-24 decision last year.
