Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren said he wants to finish his career in Detroit after signing his new contract.
The 22-year-old signed a five-year, $200 million deal and spoke Sunday, Oct. 4, at the team’s practice facility in Midtown. Duren said he wants to be a Detroit Piston for life and wants to give everything he has for the city and the fans.
The Pistons announced the extension on Saturday and did not release terms. Separate reports had previously put the deal at five years and $200 million.
Duren averaged a career-high 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in the regular season, then 10.2 points and 8.5 rebounds in the playoffs. The Pistons lost to Cleveland in seven games.
Trajan Langdon, the team’s president of basketball operations, said the team is excited to have Jalen in Detroit as a core piece for years to come. Duren has played his career with Detroit.
