The Detroit Lions fell to the Carolina Panthers 32-26 on Sunday night at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 29 of 41 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns. Tetairoa McMillan caught 14 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns, and Chuba Hubbard added two rushing touchdowns.
Jared Goff threw for 412 yards and a touchdown for Detroit. Jahmyr Gibbs scored on a 1-yard run, Sam LaPorta caught an 8-yard touchdown late, and Jake Bates made four field goals, including a 54-yarder on the opening drive.
The Lions tied the game 16-16 at halftime before Carolina pulled away in the second half. Detroit’s defense allowed Carolina to score on six straight possessions after an opening punt, and a late fourth-down try near midfield fell short.
Detroit dropped to 2-2 and faces the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday in the final game before the bye.
