The Detroit Red Wings dropped a 3-2 decision to the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday at Little Caesars Arena, falling to 0-2-0 to open the season.
Kyle Connor scored two power-play goals and added an assist as Winnipeg took a 3-0 lead before Detroit fought back. Cole Perfetti had a goal and two assists for the Jets, and Stuart Skinner made 33 saves for his first win with Winnipeg.
Viktor Arvidsson scored his first goal with Detroit on a power play late in the second period. Emmitt Finnie cut the deficit to 3-2 early in the third, but the Red Wings could not finish the comeback despite late pressure with the extra attacker.
John Gibson stopped 24 shots for Detroit. All three Winnipeg goals came on the power play. The Red Wings host Ottawa on Tuesday at Little Caesars Arena.
