LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Detroit City FC wrapped up its USL Championship regular season with a scoreless draw at Louisville City on Saturday night, and Le Rouge now turns to a home playoff match next Friday.
The game in front of 9,859 fans at Lynn Family Stadium was a defensive grind. Detroit, which allowed only 21 goals in 30 regular-season games, the fewest in the league, held the hosts to six shots and one on target. Detroit managed eight shots with three on target but could not find a winner. It was the third 0-0 result in four meetings between the clubs this season.
Seeded third in the East, Detroit will face Hartford Athletic in a conference quarterfinal at 8 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Keyworth Stadium. The bracket is single elimination with no reseeding, and the higher seed hosts each round.
It is the fifth straight playoff trip for the club, which has reached the postseason every year since joining the league in 2022. Detroit reached the conference semifinals last season after a 1-0 road win over top-seeded Louisville before falling on penalties.
