ALLEN PARK, Mich. — The Detroit Lions came out of Sunday’s home game against Green Bay with two players nursing sore ankles, but head coach Dan Campbell sounded calm about both when he met with reporters in Allen Park on Monday.
Campbell said both Amon-Ra St. Brown, a receiver, and Ennis Rakestraw, a cornerback, will likely be held out of Wednesday’s practice. The plan is for both to be back on the field Thursday, and Campbell described Rakestraw’s injury as minor.
St. Brown played through the issue and never left the game. He finished with nine receptions for a season-high 153 yards, the fifth-best yardage total of his career, as Detroit edged the Packers 20-17 on Oct. 25.
Rakestraw did exit early. He had been part of a deep cornerback rotation that day, splitting snaps with D.J. Reed, Roger McCreary, Rock Ya-Sin and Khalil Dorsey, an approach Campbell said the staff may keep using to keep the group fresh.
